The trailer for the series Citadel: Honey Bunny, the prequel to the original, was launched at a grand event. After the trailer launch, the cast gathered to have an audience interaction when Bollywood Actor Varun Dhavan talked about his interaction with legendary director Aditya Chopra.
While Varun has been a part of several blockbuster Hindi films, he feels that the love the South Indian people give her is nothing compared to Bollywood. While speaking at the trailer launch of this recent television series, Citadel: Honey Bunny, he was explaining a stunt scene when the director Raj and DK interrupted and asked, “But Varun, did you enjoy it or not?” He responded with the utmost excitement. “I had a great time. It was like a wake-up call for me, and honestly, hopefully, a lot of, as you said, a lot of people take notice of this,” he said.

He continued, “Right now, I feel like only the South Indians are taking notice of me and giving me great opportunities in action.” He revealed that he is working with Raj and DK. Next, he will be working with Atlee and Kirti. He even mentioned Janhvi and said, “Janhvi is also kind of south Indian…She is.”
He explained the reason for feeling like this by recalling an interaction with Hindi film director Aditya Chopra from the days of Lockdown. “I remember I met Aditya Chopra. We were playing... He was playing badminton, and I got to play badminton with him and Manish, and they were making Tiger during that time. And I asked, ‘Sir, why don’t you make an action film with a younger talent, and why can’t you take me and cast me?’ And he was like, no, I want to give you only acting roles,” he said.
“I kept pursuing, and then he was like, ‘See, listen, I can’t do that because I can’t give you that budget. You are not at the level where I can give you such a big budget’,” he said.
He revealed that later, he asked Aditya over a text the estimated amount required to make an action film, which Aditya provided. He went on to say that he asked Amazon about the budget first because he got to know how much is needed to make a good action film.
He praised Amazon and the directors, “I’m really grateful to Amazon and Raj and DK for giving me this platform, honestly, you know. That is needed sometimes to make something look big, to make actors look larger than life,” he said.
