On Wednesday, Shatrughan Sinha shared some previously unseen videos and photos from his daughter, actress Sonakshi Sinha's, cross-cultural wedding with Zaheer Iqbal. The couple chose a civil ceremony, held at Sonakshi's Bandra residence on June 23. One of the videos, posted by Shatrughan on his official X account, captures him and his wife Poonam Sinha performing Hindu customs at the private wedding, while Sonakshi and Zaheer sit beside them with folded hands. In the background, a priest can be heard reciting Sanskrit shlokas.
In his post, Shatrughan expressed gratitude, thanking everyone for joining in the celebration of their special day, which he described as a remarkable event. He also extended warm wishes and messages of congratulations to his beloved daughter Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal as they embark on a new chapter in their life journey together.
"Anand Bakshi saab has aptly described such persistent critics, 'Kucch to log kahenge, logon ka kaam hai kehna.' To this, I would add, 'Kehne waale agar bekar, bekaam-kaaj ke ho to kehna hi kaam ban jata hai.' My daughter has not engaged in anything illegal or unconstitutional," he shared with Times Now.
"A wedding is a deeply personal decision between two individuals; no one has the right to intervene or pass judgment. To all the protesters, I urge you – find fulfillment in your own lives. Channel your efforts into something meaningful. Aur kucch nahi kehna," the veteran actor concluded.
