Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan who came into lime light by negative roles also have opinion that there is one hero character and can be positive or negative. SRK says, "Evil or devil, black or little grey characters, be it in books, stories, films or television, have some sort of an attraction. I started with theatre and there was nothing like a heroic character. There was a central character or an important character. I have played good and bad on stage. When I joined films I got a chance to play these characters again."

1. In 1993 Shah Rukh Khan played a negative role in Baazigar opposite to Shilpa Shetty and Kajol. He portrayed an uncertain type of a punitive who kills his girlfriend, “This stunned the Indian viewers.”

2. In 1993 he played an obsessed lover in Darr with Juhi Chawla and Sunny Deol as co-stars. Khan's stammering in the film and the usage of the phrase, "I love you, Kkkiran," became popular with the audience.

3. SRK once played an obsessive lover in Anjaam opposite Madhuri Dixit. Though the film was a commercial failure, Khan's performance earned him the Filmfare Best Villain Award.
