Riteish Deshmukh And Genelia First Movie
Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia are among Bollywood's most beloved couples, having made their debut together in the romantic drama Tujhe Meri Kasam. To excite their fans, the film's makers are preparing to re-release the movie on September 13, 2024. This news has generated significant excitement among their admirers. Originally released in January 2003, Tujhe Meri Kasam was a major hit, running for over 100 days in theaters.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the re-release, Riteish Deshmukh said, “I’m thrilled that Tujhe Meri Kasam is returning to theaters. This film was not only my debut but also the beginning of something beautiful in my life. It’s wonderful to revisit those early days and share this special moment with our fans once more. See you on September 13th.” Genelia Deshmukh added, “I’m so excited that Tujhe Meri Kasam is coming back to theaters!
This film is very close to my heart as it marked the start of my career in the film industry and with Riteish. I can’t wait for fans to experience the magic of this love story all over again.” This re-release offers fans a golden opportunity to relive this romantic classic on the big screen. Since the film isn’t available on any OTT platform, the re-release promises a fresh and nostalgic viewing experience unlike any other. The film was directed by K. Vijaya Bhaskar and produced by the late Shri Ramoji Rao.
Recently, several films, including Rockstar, have been re-released, earning more than they did during their original runs. News18 Showsha explores this trend, analyzing why re-releases are becoming popular and how they benefit the exhibition sector, the film industry, and movie enthusiasts. Producer and film business expert Girish Johar describes this as “a gamble that’s paying off.” He explains, “The main reason is the lack of new releases. Multiplexes have the space to screen re-releases, and producers are eager to promote their previous films, especially if they have the funds to go all out in promoting them.”
Johar notes that producers are tapping into nostalgia, and it’s proving effective. “Certain films resonate strongly with audiences and some have achieved iconic status due to their storytelling and music. Maine Pyar Kiya is celebrating 35 years since its release, which boosts its recall value. People still want to watch these films because the memories associated with them remain vivid. That’s why most re-released films are performing reasonably well,” he explains.
