On Tuesday, the Kapoor family, including Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Neetu Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, and Aadar Jain, along with their partners Alia Bhatt, Saif Ali Khan, Bharat Sahni, and Anissa Malhotra, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi. They invited him to join the celebrations for the 100th birth anniversary of legendary actor and filmmaker Raj Kapoor, which will take place from December 13 to 15.
A special video from the Prime Minister’s Office has been released, showing the Kapoor family talking about their experience of meeting PM Modi. Ranbir shared that the family was initially 'nervous' about meeting him.
He said, "Aaj humare Kapoor family ke liye bohot hi special din hai. Pradhan Mantri ji ne Shri Raj Kapoor ko itna samaan diya aur unhone hume apna kimti waqt diya. Iss mulaqat ke liye hum zindagi bhar abhar hai. Jab humare unke saath ek sit-down ghup-shap hui, toh bohot maza aaya, humne unse bohot saare personal sawal bhi puche."
He further added, " Unhone bohot hi friendly nature se baat ki. I think humare andar jo nervousness thi, aur hum sab ki hawa tight thi. Lekin, he was very good and made us all feel very comfortable. I really thank him."
Kareena also mentioned, "It has always been my dream to sit next to PM Modi and talk to him. His positive energy is amazing, and he is truly a global leader."
Earlier today, Actress Alia Bhatt, posted pictures from their special meet and greet. She wrote, "Art is timeless, and sometimes we need to look back and learn in order to move forward. Mr. Raj Kapoor had a huge global influence. His films and stories left a mark worldwide. It was an honor to be invited by our respected Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi Ji, to spend a wonderful afternoon celebrating the life and legacy of Mr. Raj Kapoor."
