'Obsessed With The Film'; Says Ayushmann Khurrana About Laila Majnu

Bollywood film ‘Laila Majnu’, originally released in 2018, is now witnessing a re-release across the nation. Actor Ayushmann Khurrana too, praised the film and expressed his opinions.

Bollywood film ‘Laila Majnu’, originally released in 2018, is now witnessing a re-release across the nation. Fans across the country demanded for the re-release of the film, and now it is enjoying great success in theatres. Actor Ayushmann Khurrana too, praised the film and expressed his opinions.

Ayushman took to Instagram to share a story of the poster of the film, with the song ‘Hafiz Hafiz’ from the film’s soundtrack with a caption praising the film. In the caption he wrote, “Was always obsessed with the soundtrack, but now I am obsessed with the film too. Whatta beauty, Thank you for the purity. Dost kehte rah gaye, pata nahi yeh film kaise miss ho gayi (Friends kept telling me to watch this film, don’t know how I missed it).” He also tagged significant people involved in the making of the film to his story – Imtiaz Ali, Sajid Ali, Ekta Kapoor, Avinash Tiwary, Triptii Dimri, Parmeet Sethi and Sumit Kaul.

Laila Majnu initially released in 2018, and though its songs were popular, the film failed to be a box office success. But, over the years, people watched the movie and appreciated for its storytelling, and artistic and cinematic vision, and soon became a cult classic. The film collected Rs. 2.65 crores in the first four days of the re-release, surpassing the lifetime collection of the film during the initial release in 2018.  And after much appreciation and praise, the film was finally re-released on popular demand, and received the praise, love and success it deserved.

‘Laila Majnu’, starring Avinash Tiwary and Triptii Dimri in lead roles, is based on the old Persian folktale about two star crossed lovers and their tragic yet mystical love story. The film was directed by Sajid Ali and Presented by Imtiaz Ali. It was produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor. The background music was produced by Hitesh Sonik. Mohammad Muneem, Mehmood Gaami, and Irshad Kamil wrote the lyrics.
