Bollywood producer Nidhi Dutta is steering the much-anticipated sequel Border 2—all while embracing motherhood. Filming on location in the border regions since January, Border 2 is slated for release on January 23, 2026. Behind the scenes, Nidhi revealed in March that she’s expecting her first child, due in July 2025, and has been balancing intense production commitments with prenatal care.

“I was constantly in touch with my doctors… the crew also started getting me homemade food, I had a dedicated bathroom van,” she said, reflecting on working on set during pregnancy. Determined to normalize these conversations in India, she stated: “We have doctors for that… what we need is women to speak about it while they go through the journey.”

Embracing her film and motherhood as “two labors of love,” Nidhi noted the poetic timing: prepping Border 2 in her first trimester, shooting during her second, and wrapping up as her pregnancy progressed. Colleagues like Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh have witnessed her energy and dedication on set.
