National Award Winner R Madhavan Becomes The New President Of FTII!

Bollywood: R Madhavan's directorial debut ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ recently won the National Award for Best Film, he now replaces filmmaker Shekar Kapur as FTII President.

It is an undeniable fact that R Madhavan is such a great artist, evolving not just in the South but also equally in Bollywood. From lover boy to tough roles, he effortlessly aces every character. To note few of his heart-winning films are Vikram Vedha, 3 Idiots, Rang De Basanti, Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein, Minnale, Run, Dil Vil Pyar Vyar, Guru, Tanu Weds Manu 1 & 2 and many more.

Not just in acting, Madjavan proved to be an outstanding filmmaker too, with his directorial debut ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ which was released last year, he also astoundingly acted as a scientist Nambi, not just that the versatile star has also written and produced the movie. His hard work and talent truly paid off when he recently earned a National Award for Best Film.

And guess what? Madhavan now became the President of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), replacing the veteran filmmaker Shekar Kapur.

This precious moment was announced by Information & Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur on X (formerly Twitter) who wrote, “Heartiest congratulations to @ActorMadhavan ji on being nominated as President of @FTIIOfficial and Chairman of the governing council. I’m sure that your vast experience & strong ethics will enrich this institute, bring positive changes, & take it to a higher level. My best wishes to you.”

Reposting Anurag’s congratulatory note, the actor thanked back him, he wrote, “Thank you so very much for the honour and kind wishes @ianuragthakur Ji. I will do my very best to live up to all the expectations. (namaste emojis)”.

Film & Television Institute of India is an institute that offers courses in film editing, direction cinematography, audiography, acting, art direction, and computer graphics and animation. It is situated in Pune, Maharashtra established in 1960, and falls under the purview of the Central Government’s Information & Broadcasting Ministry.
