Sara Ali Khan debuted in the Bollywood industry with a great start by starring in Kedarnath (2018) and Simmba (2018), which both were commercially very successful at the box office. Later, she went on to make two remakes Love Aaj Kal (2020) and Coolie No. 1 (2020).
While, this talented actress celebrates her 28th birthday today, August 12. Let’s look into the time when Sara explained why she do not want to star in the remake film.
Here's Why:
In the 2021 interview, the Gaslight actress was questioned about wanting to remake any of her mother Amrita Singh's (veteran actress) movies. To which she replied, “No. I did two remakes in the past 2 years and I know that some films should not be touched. I look like my mother and if I don’t act as well as her, the media will not let me get away with it. I don’t want that.”

Love Aaj Kal (2020) starring Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan was particularly a remake of a 2009 film with the same title directed by Imtiaz Ali for both films. And Coolie No. 1 (2020) starring herself and Varun Dhawan was the remake of a 1995 film with the same name and director David Dhawan.
Later in the coming years, she was cast in films like Atrangi Re (2021) alongside Dhanush and Akshay Kumar, Gaslight (2023) opposite Vikrant Massey and Chitrangada Singh, and Zara Hatke Zara Bachke (2023) alongside Vicky Kaushal.
On the professional front, the actress has several exciting projects in line like Ae Watan Mere Watan, Anurag Kashyap’s Metro In Dino, and Homi Adajania’s Murder Mubarak.
