Bollywood actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut recently commented on the Kapoor family's meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to invite him to the Raj Kapoor Film Festival, which is being held to celebrate the legendary actor-filmmaker’s 100th birth anniversary. Kangana praised the initiative and supported PM Modi's involvement with the film industry, calling it a significant move. She also mentioned that the industry faces challenges and lacks proper direction, needing better guidance.
When Kangana was asked about her views on the PM meeting the Kapoor family, especially since she has been waiting to meet him herself, she mentioned, " I think our film industry needs guidance. This is soft power and it is underutilized. Today, be it PM Modi or our other guides or Information Broadcast Ministry or other programs, I have also been a part of the industry for 20 years. I think this industry is completely orphaned. Because they do not have guidance. Whether it is the Jihadi agenda or the Palestinian agenda, anyone can capture them. They have no guidance at all, they do not know where to go."
Kangana Ranaut highlighted that people in the film industry are often vulnerable and can be easily tempted into doing things that harm their reputation.
Kangana Ranaut said that it's a great move for them to focus on the mainstream. She pointed out that the film industry doesn't get the same recognition as other industries, despite making so many films and generating a lot of revenue. She also mentioned that she has asked to meet PM Modi and hopes he will call her someday for a meeting.
On December 10, the Kapoor family met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to personally invite him to the Raj Kapoor Film Festival. The family members present included Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Neetu Kapoor, Riddhima Sahni, and others.
