Deepika Padukone’s movie Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin, became a huge box office hit, crossing the Rs 1000 crore mark. After this success, the team is now working on the sequel. According to a recent report, they’ve decided to wait until Deepika returns from her maternity leave to start filming her scenes for the second movie of the franchise.
According to reports, Deepika is on maternity leave, focusing entirely on caring for her daughter, Dua. She’s chosen to be a fully involved mother, handling all her daughter’s needs herself rather than hiring a nanny. She and her husband, Ranveer Singh have planned to share all the parenting responsibilities. The report also mentions that even though some people are eager for her to return to work, Deepika isn’t planning to come back to acting anytime soon.
The report stated that the makers of Kalki 2898 AD have begun filming the sequel. Although Deepika Padukone offered to let them cut her role to speed up filming while she’s on maternity leave, they chose to wait for her. According to a source, some of her scenes for the sequel have already been filmed, but they plan to wait to complete the rest with her, as they believe the Kalki series wouldn’t be the same without her. The sequel will also feature Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan in major roles.
