Atlee, known for his back-to-back hit movies in the Tamil industry, gained global recognition with his blockbuster masterpiece "Jawan," featuring one of the top actors, Shah Rukh Khan. This film marked Atlee's breakthrough onto the international stage, and most notably, "Jawan" became the only Indian film nominated in the category of Best International Feature at the ASTRA Awards, presented by Hollywood Creative Alliance.

The film is renowned for its thought-provoking visuals addressing social issues in India, which resonated deeply with audiences. It boasts a cast of various female power performers, mesmerizing music, a captivating background score, and the standout performance of Shah Rukh Khan in multiple roles, particularly his portrayal of the older Vikram Rathore, which captivated audiences. His versatility in different characters, particularly as Azad (Vikram’s son) and Vikram Rathore, left audiences spellbound. "Jawan" emerged as the highest-grossing Indian film of the year, with a worldwide collection of 1148.32 crore.

Atlee's directorial prowess has not only garnered acclaim in India but has also caught the attention of Hollywood. Attending the ASTRA Awards in January, Atlee expressed his gratitude to his team and Shah Rukh Khan for their contributions to the film's success. Sharing glimpses from the prestigious event on social media, Atlee expressed his gratitude, stating, "Thank you Astra Awards 2024, for 'Jawan.' Despite 'Jawan' losing to 'Anatomy of Fall' at the awards ceremony, its nomination stands as a testament to its global impact. The awards, announced on January 13, featured nominations from around the world, including films from South Korea, Finland, Japan, Mexico, and France.

Reflecting on his journey in the film industry, Atlee emphasized the importance of humility. "Being humble. That's what it needs. You've to respect everyone, and you've to be humble in life. Just not by pretending, you just have to be humble," remarked the filmmaker.

'Jawan' is a commercial entertainer featuring a stellar cast including Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles, with Deepika Padukone making a special cameo appearance. The film also boasts a supporting cast comprising Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover, Riddhi Dogra, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Girija Oak, and Lehar Khan, among others.
