A triumphant return to Cannes! Filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan is once again making waves on the global stage with his latest feature, Homebound, officially selected for the prestigious Un Certain Regard section at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. This marks a powerful follow-up to his critically acclaimed debut Masaan (2015), which also earned recognition in the same category.

Backed by the cinematic force of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and co-produced by Varun Grover and Somesh Mishra, Homebound stars Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa, with a special cameo appearance by Janhvi Kapoor. Celebrating the moment, Dharma Productions took to social media to applaud the entire team for this remarkable achievement.

“A moment where Indian cinema takes over the world. We are honoured to announce that #Homebound has made its way to the official selection at the 78th edition of the Festival De Cannes in the ‘Un Certain Regard’ category. Our hearts are full and we can’t wait to show you all this journey on the big screens (sic),”

Marking an exciting new chapter for Ishaan, Homebound adds to his growing list of international achievements, coming on the heels of his Hollywood debut in The Perfect Couple.Renowned filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan returns to the Cannes stage after making waves with his debut Masaan, while Homebound will serve as Ishaan’s first appearance at the legendary festival.

The film is part of a rich and diverse Cannes selection this year, which includes standout titles like Scarlett Johansson’s directorial debut Eleanor the Great, The Mysterious Gaze of the Flamingo by Diego Céspedes, Akinola Davies Jr.'s My Father’s Shadow, and Harris Dickinson’s Urchin, promising a showcase of bold voices and fresh storytelling.
