She said, “Even though I come under the highest tax slab and pay almost 45 % of my income as tax, even though I am the highest tax-paying actress but because of no work haven’t paid half of my last year’s tax yet, first time in my life I am late in paying tax.”
But its nowhere true, Bollywood Queen Deepika Padukone now tops the list of the highest tax-paying actress in Bollywood by paying Rs 10 crores in taxes in the financial year 2016-2017 and according to GQ India, since then she has been paying a similar estimate amount.

Also, it is said that no other Bollywood actress had come closer to the amount of Deepika and as per StockGro, the Pathaan actress has a whopping net worth of Rs 500 crores and earns Rs 40 crores per year. The way her success graph is increasing, the actress now charges about Rs 15-20 crores per film and Rs 8 crores for brand endorsements.
And Alia Bhatt tops the list at the second position with Rs 5-6 crores of paying taxes every year. While in the year 2013-2014, Katrina Kaif used to top the list of highest paying but she was quickly surpassed by the one and only DP.
On the work front, Deepika Padukone is currently busy shooting for her Telugu debut under Nag Ashwin’s directorial ‘Kalki2898AD’ alongside a terrifying ensemble cast like Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, Suriya, and Disha Patani in the main roles. On the other side, she has another biggie movie ‘Fighter’ starring opposite Hrithik Roshan and Anil Kapoor.
