Friendship has always been a hard core thread in Bollywood movies over the years. From Sholay to 3 Idiots we saw countless best friends across many iconic films. On this friendship day, we take a look at modern Bollywood friends characters which will rule our hearts for many years.
Stree- Bittu (Aparshakti Khurana)
Remember the trio in Stree (2018) which made all of us crazy, Rajkumar Rao, Abhishek Banerjee & Aparshakti Khurana. These three were the highlight of the movie and are likely to comaback in Stree 2 soon. Aparshakti is also known for many such #BFF characters, prominently, Dangal, Luka Chuppi & Pati Patni Aur Woh.
Bhediya- Janardan (Abhishek Banerjee)
No one else could have played this role than Abhishek Banerjee! Janardan from Bhediya is one of his best roles ever and that too with Varun Dhawan on the other side as his #BFF. He became the connection between ‘Stree’ and ‘Bhediya’ as casts assembled in the post climax scenes.
Veere De Wedding- Kalindi, Avni, Sakshi, and Meera
This movie showed us that when it comes to lifelong friendship, no sin is too great, no secret is too big, and no problem that can not be solved. These four friends lived the phrase ‘friends like family’.
Sanju- Kamlesh (Vicky Kaushal)
Vikcy Kaushal’s Kamlesh in Sanju is one of the best of his performances ever. Vikcy plays the role of Sajay Dutt’s real life #BFF Kamlesh Kapasi. He played it so well that even Dutt complimented him, “"I got really emotional with your performance. You have truly portrayed the meaning of friendship, and your act is accurate when I think of the friends I have had. Puttar, tune dil jeet liya.”
Chhichhore- Sexa (Varun Sharma)
Be it Chhichhore, Fukrey series or Roohi or Cirkus Varun Sharma’s list of being a #BFF in Bollywood movies is endless. He brings his own comfort and relatability when he plays a character of best friend. Many viewers found ‘Sexa’ too relatable and somehow, he stole the show in this film.
Pink- Minal, Falak & Andrea
Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari & Andrea Tariang is one such #BFF trio that we can’t forget. From not being scared of Society’s judgement to becoming each other’s strength as they stand against their abusers, the trio shows what real friendship actually looks like.
Mimi- Shama (Sai Tamhankar)
Last year, Sai delivered a terrific performance in Kriti Sanon starrer Mimi. She played the role of Kriti’s #BFF in the film and won hearts with her stellar act. The actress was even awarded for her performance in the film.
