In a nostalgic Instagram post, veteran actress Zeenat Aman recently shared a candid anecdote about her experience working on the iconic film 'Qurbani,' directed by the late Feroz Khan. The revelation involved a unique incident where Feroz Khan, known for his suave demeanour, cut her pay due to a one-hour delay on set.
Aman recounted, "Feroz was glowering behind his camera, and before I could offer him my meagre excuse, he cut me down to size. 'Begum, you're late, and you're going to pay for the delay.' No argument, no scolding, but you can be sure that he docked my pay to compensate the crew for that one-hour delay!"
In response to Zeenat's revelation, Feroz Khan's son, Fardeen Khan, took to his Instagram Stories to share a lighthearted response. He tagged the veteran actress and wrote, "Aunty, if it's any consolation, family wasn't spared either. We just received the standard family discount of 25% (smiling emoji). Khan Saab would have loved your post. He would have laughed out loud (folding hands emojis)."
Zeenat Aman re-shared Fardeen's post on her Instagram, expressing her acknowledgement with a purple heart emoji.
The post also included Zeenat Aman's initial reflection on Feroz Khan's charisma and their unique journey into working together on 'Qurbani.' The actress shared how Feroz Khan, despite a rocky start, eventually convinced her to take on the lead role in the 1980 release.
With Feroz Khan's memorable impact on set etiquette and his distinct charm, 'Qurbani' remains one of Zeenat Aman's favourite projects to date. As fans reminisce about this classic film, Fardeen Khan's humorous response adds a touch of warmth to the shared memories of Bollywood's bygone era.
