Yusuf Ibrahim, who has managed security for celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Ranbir Kapoor, recently revealed rumors about the high salaries of Bollywood bodyguards. People have been asking if Shah Rukh Khan’s bodyguard, Ravi Singh, earns Rs 2.7 crore a year, and if Salman Khan’s bodyguard, Shera, makes Rs 2 crore annually.
When asked if Ravi Singh earns Rs 2.7 crore a year, Yusuf replied, " See, I told you, we don’t come to know how much someone is earning." He added, “Itna possible nahi hai."
Yusuf mentioned that Ravi used to work at his company, and since Yusuf couldn't dedicate enough time to Shah Rukh Khan, they made Ravi responsible for the star's security. Later, Ravi left the company to take over SRK's security full-time. Interestingly, Yusuf started his company by being in charge of SRK's safety.
When asked about the reported salary of Rs 2 crore per year for Salman Khan's bodyguard Shera, Yusuf said, “See, Salman Khan’s Shera has his own business, he has his own security company. I think he has multiple businesses. So it is possible that he must be earning it."
There were rumors that Akshay Kumar's bodyguard, Shreysay Thele, earns Rs 1.2 crore annually. Yusuf said, " I don’t have his personal information. Calculate monthly — Rs 10 to Rs 12 lakh — it is possible, not possible too. Depends on what billing is going for your shoot, events or promotions. How much is your salary? All these things factor in. How many days a month your star is working, the billing depends on that. All these figures, I feel, just chaap diya hai kisine."
Yusuf then mentioned that most celebrity bodyguards earn between Rs 25,000 and Rs 1 lakh, but the celebrities help with their essential expenses, such as medical bills and school fees for their children. Yusuf has been providing security for Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan since their debut and remembered that when he had a heart attack, both actors and their teams supported him and took care of his needs.
However, Yusuf added that even though bodyguards often have long-term relationships with the stars they protect, they keep things professional and don't become close friends.
