Bhooth Bangla brings the iconic Hera Pheri trio back after 24 years!

With the news of the film Bhooth Bangla came a surprise that fans couldn’t contain. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and Director Priyadarshan united after 13 years, but there’s more. Produced by Ekta Kapoor, this horror-comedy series will be turned into a franchise.

A source close to the film revealed that another reunion is going to take place in this film as Tabu has been cast for her key role in the film. This would be a reunion of the three actors on the big screen after 24 years. The last project where Akshay Kumar, Priyadarshan and Tabu worked together was the 2000’s Hera Pheri. Tabu would act as a catalyst in the film.

The source revealed that “Tabu is reuniting with Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan after their last collaboration on Hera Pheri in 2000. The actress loved her part and the script, which marries horror and humour with Indian Mythology. She is excited to step into the crazy world, which is set to be created by Priyadarshan.”

Apart from them, Wamiqa Gabbi is cast opposite Akshay Kumar as a love interest. Comedy legends Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, and Asrani were also cast, with Akshay Kumar in the lead. Talking about the production, the source said, “The process is on to get more renowned artists of the Indian Film Industry on board Bhooth Bangla. The shooting is presently underway, and the makers are looking to call it a wrap on the film by April 2025.”

The horror-comedy series is set to become a franchise. Akshay Kumaar will star in the lead, and the movie will hit theatres in 2026.
