Stree 2 hit theatres on August 15, 2024, and has been unstoppable at the box office. Directed by Amar Kaushik, this horror-comedy stars Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana. The film is a sequel to their 2018 hit, Stree, which was also a major success. However, the sequel is performing exceptionally well at the box office. According to the latest reports, Stree 2 has collected ₹275.35 crore in its first week and is expected to soon enter the ₹300 crore club.

In an interview with BollywoodLife, Aparshakti Khurana, who plays Bittu in the movie, shared his thoughts on the film's success and the end-credit scene that hints at something significant in Maddock's horror-comedy universe. When asked about Stree 2's box office performance, the Jubilee star expressed his excitement, saying, "It feels great to be a part of such an amazing journey. The love people are showing, from the performances to the numbers, makes me even happier."

When asked if he or anyone on the team anticipated that the movie would surpass ₹250 crore so quickly, Khurana replied, "Not at all. I don't think anyone expected these big numbers. Everyone anticipated a great response, but this has exceeded all expectations."

Stree 2 was released six years after the original film. During that time, the world experienced a pandemic, which made audiences more selective about going to theatres. When asked if he was concerned about the audience turnout for the sequel, Aparshakti said, "People were definitely waiting for the sequel, as they frequently asked about it." He added that the first movie ended on a cliffhanger involving Shraddha Kapoor's character, which teased a second part. "People were waiting, but we didn't realize how much. It's the audience's love that kept them waiting and showering us with appreciation."

Khurana also praised Dinesh Vijan, Amar Kaushik, and Niren Bhatt, saying, "Kudos to them for their calm and composed approach. From the first narration, it never felt like there was pressure to deliver better numbers, a better product, or more fun. They were calm, composed, and hardworking, which set the right tone for us to perform."

The first end-credit scene of Stree 2 features Varun Dhawan's Bhaskar telling Abhishek Banerjee's Jana about a man who attacks humans with his teeth and sucks their blood, confirming the expansion of the horror universe with a vampire movie. Many reports suggest that Ayushmann Khurrana will play the lead role. When asked about his brother joining the horror-comedy universe, Aparshakti Khurana responded with delight.

The Stree 2 star said, "I'm more than happy. Touchwood, what could be better news than this? We’ve been planning to work together for a long time, and now we finally have something huge to do together. It's going to be fun. He's been the vampire of my life since childhood (laughs). But I'm the youngest, so I get away with everything. But it will be fun."
