Archies Review: This Riverdale Story Has A Good Message, Good Performances And Stellar Debuts

Archies on Netflix is releasing on 7th December and the hype is real cause all thanks to the casting of famous star kids. Right now what is awaited is to see how audience like these kids because this tale is not so glam or about glory, its about the famous Archies and its nostalgia that is etched in the Riverdale town and its characters. 

The art director of the movie should be given a special shoutout because the homework, groundwork and the artwork is amazingly done. The movie does give us a 1960's vibe with that of Riverdale feels. With iconic Pop Tates reminding us of our shakes and burgers, this will rewind you into the time. 

Talking about the performances, let's judge them purely on the basis of their craft. Agastya Nanda as Archie is promising, he needs to up his expressions game a bit but he definitely has that arc and the one that goes higher and above. Khushi Kapoor as Betty will win your hearts, she definitely has what it takes, simplicity and glam all in right quotient and an expressive eyes that can speak volumes without much words. Some of the scenes were a total steal when Khushi was in it, she did her part really well. 

Suhana Khan as Veronica, she knows her craft and she definitely has a good theater experience because her range is really good. From start to finish Suhana as Veronica was getting better, she made it look all easy and defnitely not like a newcomer's debut. Vedang Raina as Reggie, he is the one who will steal your heart, cause he looks good but acts even better. He has a really good voice modulation and he definitely has a good catch on dialogues as well. Mihir Ahuja as Jughead is the cutest but the one who will make an impact, sometimes just being funny can be also be overshadowed but in his case he made it clear that he is not just another comic guy. 

Aditi Dot as Ethel is promising, she has few scenes but every scene she is in she delivers and how, she has a different kinda x factor as a performer and that will land her many good roles. Yuvraj Menda as Delton, has a complex character, a bit nerdy yet friendly, well that is something that might not sit well easily in this teen movie but he made it look all easy. 

The movie has a good social message and is well balanced script wise. After a long time we have a good musical that you can enjoy with family with no much stress . At the end what matters is we have a good 2 hours of our time and Archies is that promise pinky sealed delivered to you on your screens on Netflix. 

Special love for Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti cause these two powerhouse of talent never get it wrong, always a fan of their kind of film-making and with Archies they prove that genre is no challenge, they conquer it all.
