Junaid Khan Calls Himself A Misfit In Loveyapa
Actor Junaid Khan admits he believes his role in the upcoming Loveyapa romantic drama together with Khushi Kapoor seems misfit. During an interview, Junaid shared that he asked director Advait Chandan why he received the role in the movie.
Junaid said, "I was a bit surprised that they wanted me because I felt like my personality was so far away from the character. I asked him if he was sure he wanted me to play the role."
The 31-year-old actor added, "I wouldn’t be casting me in this part, but Advait (Chandan) and Madhu (Mantena) sir seemed pretty confident."
Loveyapa serves as the debut theatrical film for Khushi Kapoor and Junaid Khan since their previous releases Maharaj and The Archies appeared on Netflix.
Earlier, in an interview, Junaid acknowledged his privileged background. "Producers will cast me even without seeing any public presence. Not many actors have that. It’s purely because of the family I come from," he told.
Both Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor also spoke about Loveyapa being a remake of the Tamil film Love Today. Junaid shared, "Advait came to me and said he had the rights to this Tamil film and asked me to watch it. He just told me the premise in one line—that a guy goes to meet the girl's family, and her father asks them to exchange their phones. I loved the premise and was very excited. Pradeep (Ranganathan) sir did a fantastic job in Love Today. He directed, wrote, and acted in the film, and it was amazing."
In addition to Khushi and Junaid the movie introduces Ashutosh Rana playing a critical character. Loveyapa makes its cinematic debut on February 7.
