Someone wise had said it very correctly that to love someone, you need to love yourself first! If someone has zero self-worth and low self-esteem, he or she won’t be able to love somebody else with a complete feeling. Often in Bollywood movies, we have seen iconic and selfless love-stories which are sagas showing celebrates and timeless love-stories. From Mughal-E-Azam to Veer Zaara, love has seen different forms with the same underlying vibe!
But there have been also few movies and a few Bollywood characters who have shown that it is more important to love oneself before falling for another person. Having self-worth and love for our own life & dreams is quite important to shape up the person we eventually become. If we are confident about how we look and how we talk or how we present ourselves before others, then, the same energy transcends into loving someone else with full conviction. Bala : Ayushmann Khurrana in Bala taught us how to love your imperfections! It did struck a chord with almost everyone as nobody is perfect and it taught us how we must be okay with our own appearance if we need to stand tall with confidence before someone we admire or love! The character had a few insecurities earlier but eventually learnt that loving oneself is of utmost importance!
Tara : Playing a fun as well as deeply rooted character in Tamasha named Tara, Deepika Padukone did a wonderful job in playing someone who taught us that it is okay to take a break, it is okay to make some distances from someone who is affecting you and it is very crucial to pay heed to your mental health first than anything else. And it worked for many!
Kabir : In this coming-of-age film which was became a nationwide emotion, Ranbir Kapoor as Kabir in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani was absolutely terrific! Kabir was zany, enthusiastic, nomadic and put his dreams & passions before any other thing and it made sense to us in some ways. Sometimes it is important to follow your heart and goals to achieve and become something in life as it could give you immense satisfaction. And, then you can always come back like how Kabir did!
