The opening collections of “Dear Zindagi” proves that Alia Bhatt is definitely here to stay. The cute and bubbly girl from the “Student Of The Year” has completely transformed into much more matured and enchanting actress in “Dear Zindagi”.
When Alia Bhatt, daughter of acclaimed film-maker Mahesh Bhatt, debuted in 2012 with “Student Of The Year”, she was written off immediately with critics describing her as a glam doll. Alia proved her naysayers wrong with powerful performance in “Highway” and then there was no turning back ever since with hits like “2 States”, “Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania”, “Kapoor And Sons” and the recent “Dear Zindagi”. Ofcourse, all these films were backed with big production houses but Alia’s acting is just increasing her fan base.
Coming to the economics of “Dear Zindagi”, the romantic drama starring Shah Rukh Khan, has earned Rs 20 crores in two days beating the first weekend collections of “Highway” which earned Rs 13.50 crores.
Alia’s performance this year has been exceptional in multi-starrer “Udta Punjab” and with “Dear Zindagi”, it will be a fantastic year for her.
