A brace from Lionel Messi alongside goals from Frenkie de Jong and Antoine Girezmann helped them seal the game comprehensively. The Blaugrana must have shifted their focus to the La Liga title, they are currently in a title race against Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
Getafe is currently having a forgettable season, they have only managed to win three games in the 17 matches since the start of the year. They are just five points ahead of the relegation zone and can’t afford any slip-ups.
In the head-to-head competition between the two teams, Barcelona has the upper hand as they were victorious against Getafe on 25 occasions and lost four times while six games have ended in a draw.
Barcelona will be missing the services of Ansu Fati due to a knee injury while Martin Braithwaite sprained his ankle in the training session and is likely to sit out for the upcoming fixture.
Apart from Dario Poveda, Erick Cabaco and Cucho’s injury, Getafe has a fully fit squad available for selection for Thursday’s game.
