There can be no better day to remind us of their sacrifices than 15th January, which is celebrated as The Army Day. This day is special for our armed troops as back in 1949, it was on this day that Field Marshal Kodandera M. Cariappa took over as the first Commander in Chief of the Indian Army from General Sir Francis Butcher, the last British Commander in Chief in India.
