With the increasing demand and shortage of oxygen in hospitals, Mahindra Logistics, Mahindra Group’s division has started the Oxygen On Wheels Initiative to ease the transportation of oxygen from plant to hospitals and homes.
Anand Mahindra, the Chairman of Mahindra & Mahindra took to twitter and tweeted, “Today, Oxygen is the key to reducing mortality. The problem is not of oxygen production but is transportation from producing plants to hospitals and homes. We’re attempting to bridge this gap with ‘Oxygen on Wheels’ a project implemented via Mahindra Logistics.”
He posted a series of tweets about the initiative. In this project, the trucks would be used in local shuttle routes to connect oxygen producers with homes and hospitals. He also added that 61 jumbo cylinders have already been delivered to 13 hospitals. I’m deeply grateful to them.
He further added that the project includes Mumbai, Thane, Nashik, Nagpur going live with another 50-75 Bolero pickups on the road in next 48 hours.
The project has started in Maharashtra but they will expand it through the country depending on the support of their trusted dealership network and assistance if local administrations. To ensure that more and more people get help, an operations congtrol centre has also been established along with a direct-to-consumer model.
