The controversy erupted when a Reddit user posted a warning to American servicemen about the activities of a local women's online community. The post, uploaded seven days prior, alerted soldiers that intimate details about them were being exposed and discussed online.

In the Reddit post, several photos of American servicemen were shared alongside a catalog containing personal information, such as marital status and even penis size.

The user highlighted a disturbing comment: “Who has tasted this fool? Seeing how he is staying in Pyeongtaek, I think he’s an American soldier, lol. He says he is in the Air Force, but can an American soldier be Allah (Muslim)? How can I tell if he’s Allah (Muslim) or not?”

The post included additional comments from the community:

“Does anyone know this pilot from Seongnam?” and “Who has seen him?” One user remarked, “He is someone I know from a friend of a friend… Lol, he doesn’t look as good as he does in his pictures…”

The backlash was swift, with netizens condemning the actions of the community members for violating the privacy of the servicemen. Many called for accountability and the shutdown of such online groups. Others noted that online communities frequented by men also contained inappropriate content, suggesting a broader issue with online behavior and privacy violations.

“Disgusting.”

  • “Ew.”

  • “F*cking dirty.”

  • “Just say it’s from Yeosung Shidae.”

  • “I’ll acknowledge this if they also persecute men who write reviews on women in their communities.”

  • “That is Yeosung Shidae, right? It’s disgusting to even read their text. Isn’t that Daum cafe? Can’t we just sue them? What is wrong with them? Isn’t Yeosung Shidae where they sexualized foreign babies? That place is crazy.”

  • “Please persecute anyone who leaves reviews of their sexual partner, regardless of their gender. Please.”

  • “They are disgusting, and they should be persecuted, but comparing this to the N-Room controversy is crazy.”

  • “This is really disgusting.”

As the investigation continues, there is growing concern over the protection of privacy for both local and foreign individuals in Korea. The case has underscored the need for stricter regulations and enforcement to prevent such invasions of privacy in the digital age.

Further updates will follow as more information becomes available and as authorities potentially intervene to address the situation.
