‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ starring Alia Bhatt in the titular role directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali has taken the internet by storm with its different story-line and mind-blowing performance by the actress that we saw in the trailer of the film recently and fans can’t get over it. The film is all set to hit the theatres on July 30.
Meanwhile, the film is based on one of the chapters of noted author Hussain Zaidi’s book ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’. In the film, Bhatt plays Gangubai, who ran a brothel in Kamathipura during the 1960s and was feared and respected among the locals.
And according to the latest reports, an additional chief metropolitan magistrate court in Mumbai has issued summons to Alia Bhatt and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Baburao Shah who is as adopted son late Gangubai has filed a complaint against them in a defamation case claiming that ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ will portray his family in the wrong manner and that it is factually incorrect.
So, as per the reports, Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and Hussain Zaidi have asked to present themselves before the court on May 21. Also, earlier, Baburao Shah tried to file a petition in a Mumbai civil court against the film and its trailer but it was rejected.
