VIDYA BALAN'S FATHER'S REAL NAME USED FOR HER ONSCREEN FATHER IN "DO AUR DO PYAAR"

Vidya Balan's upcoming film 'Do Aur Do Pyar' has sparked controversy as her onscreen father's name is the same as her real father's name, P. R. Balan. Despite the criticism, the actress defends the decision.

Vidya Balan, who plays a modern, progressive Palakkad Tamil in her upcoming film "Do Aur Do Pyaar" (Kavya Ganeshan), drew inspiration from her real father's name to name the character of her screen father.
 
Vidya's father's name is Poothankurissi Ramaiyer Balan, while the name of her screen father is Poothankurissi Ramaiyer Ganeshan.

Her screen family is based on Ooty in the film.

Renowned Tamil actor, Thalaivasal Vijay, who has featured in more than 100 Tamil and Malayalam films, plays Vidya's father.

Laughs Vidya, "It was just one of those things. They knew my father's name and asked me if they could modify it and use it in the film and I agreed."

'Do Aur Do Pyaar' is all set to hit the screen on 19th April 2024.
