Martial Arts Star Norman Chui Passes Away at 73, Followed by Tragic Death of His Wife

The Hong Kong entertainment industry is mourning the loss of renowned martial arts star Norman Chui, who passed away at the age of 73 on September 1 in Beijing.

The actor, best known for his iconic roles in 1970s and 1980s TV shows such as The Sword of the Third Young Master and Reincarnated, succumbed to esophageal cancer.

His passing shocked fans and colleagues alike, especially since it was reported that Norman was unaware of his illness.

In a tragic turn of events, just days after Norman's death, his 43-year-old wife, a dancer, also passed away.

According to Tin Kai Man, a veteran actor and spokesperson for the Hong Kong Film Workers Association, Norman’s wife suffered a fatal heart attack while arranging her husband’s funeral. The couple’s daughter is now handling the funeral arrangements for both parents.

The couple had been married for nearly 20 years and shared two children, a daughter and an 11-year-old son. Although Norman’s wife lived a more private life, her sudden death has left the family devastated.
