Amidst the increasing cases of coronavirus and lockdown, thousands of devotees are gathering at the banks of the Ganga River for a holy dip. In just 2 days more than 1000 people have tested positive. Amidst the lockdown, Kumbh Mela will continue till 30th April.
Actor Karan Wahi raised his voice against the same and had posted one story on Instagram and wrote, “Isn’t there a Work From Home culture for Naga Babas? Like get water from Ganga and take a shower at home.”
This didn’t go well with some people. They criticised Karan and called him anti-Hindu. One troller asked him if he ever had read Bhagwat Gita. The actor had an equal reply and posting a picture of Bhagwat Gita, the Bible and the Quran and wrote, “yeh teeno padhni hain aur teeno ki izzat karni hain.”
Karen even received death threats which he posted on his Instagram stories and wrote, “So I received messages, abusive content, even death threats already. Wow, people of India. If being a Hindu is to turn a blind eye on Covid protocols not being allowed then a lot of you first need to read what being a Hindu is.”
In the end, he shared, “I love you. You’re probably thinking ‘you don’t even know me’. But if people can hate for no reason, I can love.”
