Winner of 3 National Awards, Saroj Khan complained of breathing issues and was admitted to the Guru Nanak Hospital at Bandra Mumbai on 20th June. She was tested for COVID-19 as a mandatory rule and turned out to be negative. Saroj Khan passed away after suffering cardiac arrest at 1:52 am as confirmed by her daughter.

Hailed as “The Mother of Dance/Choreography in India”, Saroj Khan’s career spanned over 40 years in Bollywood industry, choreographing 2000 songs, including the National Award winning Dola Re from Devdas, all the songs from Tamil movie Sringaram and Yeh Ishq Haaye from Jab We Met. Her last credit was for the song Tabah Hogaye from Karan Johar’s Kalank in 2019.
