‘Sultan” got affected by “Kabali” as was expected and collection came down but despite this windfall, it maintained the momentum. However, chances of “Sultan” crossing 300 crores and beating “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” records looks dim now.
“Sultan” collected Rs 48.80 cr at the end of its second week. On its 3rd Friday, “Sultan” went further down collecting Rs 2.14 crores taking the total to Rs 280 cr0res at the domestic box. The break-up of the film is Fri 7.43 cr, Sat 11.46 cr, Sun 15.18 cr, Mon 4.08 cr, Tue 3.72 cr, Wed 3.42 cr, Thu 3.51 cr. “Sultan” faced intense competition from Rajnikanth starrer “Kabali” and to some extent Irrfan Khan’s “Madaari”. “Sultan” will soon become the highest grossing film of Yash Raj films once it beats “Dhoom 3”.
”Sultan” continued to perform well in the OVERSEAS bringing in the total of $ 21.65 million [₹ 145.49 cr]. The key market were USA-CANADA: $ 5.60 mn, UAE-GCC: $ 7.88 mn, UK-IRELAND: $ 2.09 mn and PAKISTAN: $ 2.80 mn
