2PM'S Taecyeon's Agency Responds to Viral "Proposal" Photos

On February 5, pictures of Taecyeon kneeling with a ring in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris started circulating on online communities.
 

Many fans and netizens assumed it was a marriage proposal, fueling rumors that the idol was preparing to tie the knot.

The photos, originally shared by a photographer on social media, quickly gained attention but were later deleted. Despite their removal, the speculation continued to spread, prompting a response from Taecyeon's agency.

Later that day, 51K released an official statement denying the proposal rumors. A representative from the agency stated, “Those photos were not taken as part of a marriage proposal.” They further explained, “The photos, which were taken last year to celebrate his girlfriend’s birthday, were unfortunately leaked and spread across online communities.”

The agency also addressed the couple’s relationship status, saying, “He is continuing to have a good relationship with his girlfriend, as he always has. While we believe that he may get married someday when the timing is right, there are no immediate plans for marriage at this time.”

Taecyeon confirmed his relationship with his non-celebrity girlfriend in 2020, and the couple has kept a low profile since. With the recent leak, discussions about privacy and personal boundaries for celebrities have resurfaced. Fans have shown mixed reactions, with some respecting Taecyeon’s private life while others continue to speculate about his future plans.
