The new releases last week was not good enough to pull down the “Dishoom” starring John Abraham and Varun Dhawan which kept on entertaining the audience to become the 8th highest grossing film of 2016.
After slowing down on its second Friday, the John Abraham and Varun Dhawan starrer “Dishoom” showed promises on its second Saturday and grew well making it to Rs 59.34 crores. The Sunday collections was nice as the “Friendship Day” fell on this day which generated more revenue for “Dishoom” equaling to Rs 4.05 crores. With the total collections of Rs 63.39 crores, “Dishoom” was able to defeat the lifetime collections of the controversial drug-related drama “Udta Punjab” which collected Rs 59.60 crores in its lifetime and starred Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt , Diljit Dosanjh and directed by Abhishek Chaubey.
The last blockbuster presented by Sajid Nadiawala was “Baaghi” which earned Rs 76 crores but before that “Dishoom” has to cross “Kapoor And Sons” which earned a lifetime collections of Rs 73 crores to become the 7th highest grossing film of 2016.
