“Shivay” continued to conquer the single screens especially in the mass dominated area and ended its second weekend with a good collections.
The business of “Shivaay” showed slight growth but was good enough to beat other records. The first week of “Shivaay” ended on a good note with the action film minting Rs 70.41 crores. With second Friday collections to Rs 4.61 crores, “Shivaay” beat the collections of “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” which earned Rs 4.56 crores bringing the total to Rs 75.02 crores. “Shivaay” also crossed the lifetime business of “Kapoor And Sons” which earned Rs 73.03 crores.
The collections on Saturday showed a growth of around 18% to register earning of Rs 5.40 crores. “Shivaay” also became the eight highest grossing film of 2016 beating “Neerja” which earned Rs 75 crores and “Baaghi” which earned Rs 75.32 crores. With Sunday business growing further, “Shivaay” ended its second weekend with Rs 17.09 crores at the box office summing up the total to Rs 87.50 crores and beating Ajay Devgan’s “Drishyam” which earned Rs 76.16 crores.
“Shivaay” also achieved another feat by beating the lifetime collections of Shah Rukh Khan’s “Fan” which earned Rs 85 crores to become the seventh highest grossing film of 2016. The budget of “Shivaay” is Rs 105 crores and should need to perform exceedingly well to do post healthy box office figures.
