2nd Wednesday Box Office Report – Badla Becomes The 3rd Highest Film Of Big B, Captain Marvel Crosses 75 Crores


The team of Sujoy Ghosh, Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Shah Rukh Khan should pop-up champagne as Badla crossed the lifetime collections of Satyagraha to become the third highest grossing film of Big B while Captain Marvel crossed 75 crores at the box office.

Badla had a very good first week, growing with each passing day at the ticket window. The mystery-thriller continued to perform on the weekdays, ultimately taking over the weekday collections of Captain Marvel. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, the Amitabh Bachchan and Tapsee Pannu starrer ended its first week run with a strong Rs 38 crores. Since there were no major releases this Friday, Badla took advantage of the situation and collected Rs 18.97 in its second weekend. There was a strong hold on second Monday with Rs 2.80 crores followed by Rs 2.60 crores on Tuesday.

As per early estimates, Badla did better on second Wednesday with Rs 2.90 crores, bringing the total earnings to a magnificent Rs 65.27 crores and crossing the lifetime collections of Prakash Jha directed Satyagraha, which made Rs 63.74 crores. Produced by Shah Rukh Khan, under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment, the budget of Badla is Rs 25 crores (all inclusive of prints and advertising cost (Production Cost: 16 Crore & Prints & Advertising Cost: 8 Crore).

Captain Marvel had a superb first week, opening to a solid response with Rs 40.71 crores in the first weekend itself. The earnings dropped over the weekdays, ending the first week collections to Rs 56.41 crores followed by Rs 14.35 crores in the second weekend. The collections on Monday was decent with Rs 2.10 crores followed by Rs 2 crores on Tuesday.

As per early estimates, the super hero film did not drop at all on second Wednesday with Rs 2 crores, bringing the 13 days total collection to Rs 76.76 crores which is sensational.
