The multi-starrer Malang did well on the second day while Shikara showed limited at the box office on Saturday.

1st Day Box Office Report – Malang Opens Well, Shikara Is Poor

Directed by Mohit Suri, who has given hits like Zeher, Murder 2, Kalyug, Ashiqui 2 and Ek Villain, is back with highly energized and musical crime thriller, Malang, which had already created sensation among the audience, thanks to its eye-popping posters, trailer and songs.

The reviews has been good till now as per BookMyShow and with interesting star cast comprising of Aditya Roy Kapur, Disha Patani, Kunal Khemu and Anil Kapoor, Malang took a fair opening in the morning shows with around 20%. Th earnings picked up in the evening and night shows, collecting Rs 6.71 crore on the first day. As per early estimates, the earnings grew by around 35% on Saturday with Rs 9-9.50 crore, bringing the two days total to Rs 16.50-17 crore.

Malang is the highest solo opening film of Aditya Roy Kapoor beating his previous record of Aashiqui 2 which collected Rs 5.15 Crore on its opening day. Malang opening day collections are 3rd highest of 2020 after Tanhaji and Street Dancer 3D.  Malang has to do well on Sunday to bring in respectable numbers since the budget is Rs 50 crore (Production cost is Rs 40 crore, Printing and advertisement is Rs 10 crores)

From the veteran director Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who has given us cult classics like Parinda and 1947-A Love Story is back with Shikara after a gap of 13 years of gap (Eklavaya was his last film released in 2007) .

Based on the harsh-reality of Kashmiri Pandits, Shikara has garnered good views and the trailer has been appreciated by the audience. The reviews has been decent as per BookMyShow

Tanhaji 29th Day Box Office Report – Ajay Devgn Starrer Crosses 260 Crore

Starring Sadia and Adil Khan in a lead position, Shikara has opened on a poor response with just 5% occupancy in the morning shows across India. The earnings showed slight improvement towards the end of the day, minting Rs 1.20 crore. There was a limited growth on Saturday with Rs 1.80 crore, bringing the two days total to Rs 3 crore. The budget of Shikara is estimated to be Rs 20 crore.
