Karan Arjun was directed by Rakesh Roshan and written by Sachin Bhowmick and Ravi Kapoor. Rakesh Roshan previously made films including the drama Khudgarz (1987), the revenge drama Khoon Bhari Maang (1988) and the comedy-drama Kishen Kanhaiya (1990). Rakesh Roshan has chosen the story of revenge drama which was in line with his previous work, Khoon Bhari Maang, coupled with the re-birth concept.

Karan Arjun ended its theatrical run with Rs 25,28,50,000 against a budget of Rs 6,00,00,000 and was declared “Blockbuster” at the box office.
