We welcome a new month and a fresh array of shows that are all set to hit our screens making for a memorable May. There’s a lot to keep us excited.

And there's no doubt, viewers will be spoilt for choice! So here are the following OTT shows to add in your May 2023 watchlist:-

QUEEN CHARLOTTE: A BRIDGERTON STORY

While fans eagerly await the third season of Bridgerton (with a fourth also confirmed), this upcoming series looks to serve as the perfect binge session. Spanning six episodes, the show revolves around the life of a young Queen Charlotte before her rise to power and how her marriage to King George paved the way for a great love story.

Viewers will get to see Golda Rosheuvel reprise her role as Queen Charlotte while India Amarteifio from The Midwich Cuckoos will play her younger version. The show will be released on May 4 on Netflix.

SILO

Fans of the dystopian drama genre are in for a treat with this sci-fi show just a few days from release. Based on the series of novels of the same name by Hugh Howey, the plot focuses on the 10,000 residents that remain on Earth and live in a silo underground.

While no one has a clue about its relevance or history, they know for sure that it’s the only thing keeping them alive as they abide by a set of strict rules. Things take a turn for the worst when an engineer named Juliette (Rebecca Ferguson) seeks answers about the situation and the murder of a loved one, only to discover hidden secrets and a web of lies. Will release on May 5 on Apple TV+.

SAAS, BAHU AUR FLAMINGO

The series narrates the story of four women—Savitri (Dimple Kapadia), her daughters-in-law Bijli and Kajal, and her daughter Shanta. Savitri runs a company named Rani Cooperative that deals in pain-relief balms and textiles. The company is also a cover for a huge drug cartel.

Along with Kapadia, the original features a star-studded cast that includes Deepak Dobriyal, Radhika Madan, Naseeruddin Shah, Monica Dogra, Angira Dhar, Ashish Verma, Varun Mitra, Udit Arora, and Isha Talwar. Releasing on May 5 on Disney+ Hotstar.

HANNAH GADSBY: SOMETHING SPECIAL

Filmed at the Sydney Opera House, this is the Australian comedian’s third major Netflix Original stand-up special. Described as a “feel good set”, Something Special will see Gadsby discuss their 2021 wedding to their producer Jenney Shamash and share tales of her love and marriage.

With tiny tit-bits on a panicky proposal, a novelty wedding cake, and a fateful bunny encounter, it’s a special that will bring a smile to everyone’s face. Watch the show starting from May 9 on Netflix.

DAHAAD

The series is an eight-part crime drama that follows sub-inspector Anjali Bhati and her colleagues in a small town police station. In the show, Sinha plays the role of a fierce lady cop, who strives to solve a gruesome murder case, with an unsuspecting criminal on the loose.

What follows is a riveting chase between a seasoned criminal and an underdog cop as she pieces together evidence before another innocent woman loses her life. Apart from Sonakshi Sinha, actors Vijay Varma, and Gulshan Devaiah will also be seen playing important roles in this crime drama series. Releasing on May 12 on Amazon Prime Video.

PLATONIC

Seth Rogen (The Super Mario Bros. Movie) and Rose Byrne (Physical) team up again with creator Nick Stoller (the trio previously worked together on Neighbors and Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising) in this comedy about two once-estranged best friends who reunite while dealing with their midlife crises.

The first season, spanning 10 episodes, will see them meet after a heated argument that prompted them to part ways, only to rekindle their friendship to realise that it’s starting to take over and dictate their entire lives. Can't wait to watch on May 24 on Apple TV+.
