Have A Look At The Indian Divas' Red Carpet Moments At Met Gala

New Update

Each Met Gala traverses a wave of not only extravagant sartorial choices but also beauty looks that become a beacon of self-expression in pop culture. While fashion remained at the core of this year's Met Gala even more so with the theme, "Karl Lagerfeld: A line of beauty" as the industry paid homage to the late dressmaker, above-the-neck artistry levelled up to match boundary-pushing standards, too.

For Priyanka Chopra the Met Gala carpet isn't a new feat, in fact, the star is a seasoned regular who continues to serve major fashion and beauty moments yearly. At this year's Met Gala, the Bollywood megastar opted for a black strapless Maison Valentino gown with complementing cape and gloves. Makeup artist Sarah Tanno championed this quote by Karl himself for Priyanka's classic and modern glam, “I love classic beauty. It’s an idea of beauty with no standard”. Through her gorgeous skin, fluffy lashes, rose-toned lips and cheeks and a classic winged liner, the late designer's beauty ideals shone through. A creatively twisted top knot with a semi-puff in the front tied together by a black ribbon quite literally pulls the style together.

A vision in white, Alia Bhatt debuted at the Met Gala in custom Prabal Gurung couture. Drenched in a pearl bodice with an idiosyncratic bejewelled fingerless glove the star paid homage to the late designer Karl Lagerfeld, around whom this year's theme is centred. As for her beauty choice, the Vogue India cover star stayed true to her less-is-more signature style by makeup artist Puneet Saini. With a dewy and flawless face, subtle blush, kohl-lined eyes and a perfect nude lip, the star proved natural makeup can work on champagne carpets, too. A polarised hair parting pulled back with a bejewelled bow detail elevated the look even further to exude a classic Karl bride.

True to the Met Gala dress code of "in honour of Karl,” businesswoman and arts patron Isha Ambani turned heads in a stunning, black, satin-back sari gown by Nepalese-American designer and longtime collaborator Prabal Gurung. Her beauty choices followed a more natural yet luxe look, as makeup artist Tanvi Chemburkar created a dewy foundation base, topped with enough bronzer and contour finished with a kohled eye line and the perfect brown lip. For the hair, hair stylist Yianni Tsapatori accentuated her current hair texture and styled them in goddess-like flowing waves.

For the philanthropist who champions art as an expression, it can be daunting to deliver extravagant yet perfect looks with each carpet appearance, but not for Natasha Poonawalla. She pulled out all the stops yet again for this year's Met Gala with a structural silver gown with two pointed edges almost exuding a cat's ears. To balance her outfit, she championed glass-like makeup, long back eyeliner strokes, nude lips and a mid-rise ponytail held together with a metallic silver bow with a dangling ribbon along the tresses. One word–brilliant.

The actor and producer knows what works for her when it comes to fashion and beauty. Opting for a silver corseted gown by Simkhai, the star channelled elegance with her silver ensemble. Staying true to her skin tone, she aced the perfectly blended base topped off with a nude monochromatic makeup look, with one standout feature–her eyes. A deeply kohled gaze lined with false eyelashes adds an extra touch of drama to her look. Tracing back to classics her centre-parted hair pulled back in a bun remains a beauty favourite, and also effortlessly allows room for her drop earrings.
