Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is a 2023 fantasy heist action-comedy film directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, who cowrote the screenplay with Michael Gilio from a story by Chris McKay and Gilio.

While D&D matches with many series like Lord of Rings & Game of thrones but it has something unique shades as well in itself. Makers have taken a lot of inspirations from previous series but the difference between adapting a game like D&D rather than a series of novels by J.R.R. Tolkien or George R.R. Martin is that the goal is to capture an experience rather than a specific story — and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves delightfully nails the fun of role-playing.

Honor Among Thieves is stacked with familiar faces: Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, and  Regé-Jean Page play the main group of adventurers, with Hugh Grant taking on the grey shade. Pine plays a bard, Rodriguez a barbarian, Smith a sorcerer, Lillis a druid, and Page a paladin all these are the familiar characters and their capabilities too have shown accurately. Even if anyone doesn’t have any idea of what this previous story is the screenplay and character build up doesn’t miss you out on anything.

The humour element in the film has worked a lot for the writers and directors to get an escape from overly fantasized world. Cast too make the things look familiar and smooth in the entire run.
