The maid and driver of Aishwarya Rajinikanth were detained on Tuesday for stealing gold, silver, and diamond jewellery. On Monday, she had reported a crime to the police.

As the burglary took place, Aishwarya Rajinikanth was hard at work on the set of her most recent movie, Lal Salaam.
Aishwarya Rajinikanth's domestic helper and driver were detained on Tuesday after they were caught taking gold, silver, and diamond jewellery from her house in Chennai. Aishwarya reported 3.60 lakh in gold and diamond jewellery missing from her home locker in a police report she made a day earlier. She is Rajinikanth's elder daughter from his marriage to Latha Rajinikanth, a Tamil performer.
Easwari, the maid for the director, used Venkatesan, the driver, to assist her take the goods. Easwari took four kilos of silver goods, 30 grammes of diamond jewellery, and around 100 sovereigns worth of gold jewellery, according to a report by the Press Trust of India (PTI). According to a police press release, she used the proceeds from the sales to acquire a house and some other stuff.
As she had been a maid for 18 years, Easwari was familiar with every aspect of Aishwarya's household. For several days, she repeatedly opened the locker to steal the stuff. She also had the locker key in her possession. The paperwork pertaining to the acquisition of a residential property were also taken from the maid's residence together with the stolen goods.
Aishwarya claimed in the FIR she submitted on Monday that she last wore the jewellery in 2019 at the wedding of her younger sister Soundarya. Since then, it has reportedly been stored in a locker that has been relocated between homes, including her ex-husband Dhanush's flat in 2021 and subsequently to her father Rajinikanth's house. The locker's keys were still in Aishwarya's apartment. When the robbery happened, she was preoccupied with the filming of her most recent movie, Lal Salaam.
A case has been filed by Teynampet Police in accordance with Section 381 of the IPC. According to a report from India Today, the jewellery included bangles, approximately 60 sovereigns of gold, Navaratnam sets, ancient gold pieces, and diamond sets. The total value of the jewellery was $3.60 lakh. Aishwaryaa listed her two domestic helpers and her driver as suspects in her complaint.
In January 2022, Aishwarya and Dhanush made their divorce public. Yatra and Linga, their boys, are their only offspring. With the 2012 film 3 starring Dhanush and Shruti Haasan, she made her directorial debut. After Vai Raja Vai, Aishwarya is now filming her third movie, Lal Salaam (2015). Starring in the Lyca Productions-produced Tamil movie are actors Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth. Her father Rajinikanth is rumoured to have a lengthy appearance in Lal Salaam.
