The lovely girl is being announced as the global ambassador for Louis Vuitton, Pottery Barn and Qatar Airways, bagged the TIME100 Impact Award, earned a spot as a member of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival jury, launched the hotly-anticipated self-care brand 82° E and starred in movie Pathaan, which was a blockbuster hit.

For the unaware ones, Indian Model Persis Khambatta was the lady, who made history by becoming the first Indian person to ever present the Oscars at the Academy Awards. Persis was starred as Lieitenant Ilia in Star Trek: The Motion Picture. She appeared on stage at the prestigious award event in 1980 and handed the award to the winner of the Best Feature-Length Documentary Film.

After Persis, Priyanka Chopra was the one to do the honour at the 88th Academy Awards in 2016. Priyanka, alongside American actor-director-producer-screenwriter Live Schreiber presented the nominees for Achievement in Film Editing which was bagged by Margaret Sixel for Mad Max: Fury Road. She was a presenter at the ceremony with Steve Carell, Jared Leto, Julianne Moore, Olivia Munn, Margot Robbie, Jason Segel, Andy Serkis, Kerry Washington and Reese Witherspoon.

Now, Deepika will be joining Emily Blunt, Samuel L Jackson, Dwayne Johnson, Michael B Jordan, Janelle Monae, Zoe Saldana, Jennifer Connelly, Riz Ahmed and Melissa McCarthy to be a part of this prestigious event. The 95th Academy Awards will take place on March 12 at Los Angeles (March 13 in India).

SS Rajamouli’s epic period drama RRR bagged the nomination for Best Original Song for ‘Naatu-Naatu’ and two Indian non-fiction films, Shaunak Sen’s All That Breathes and Kartiki Gonsalves’ The Elephant Whisperers, got nominated for the best documentary and best documentary short awards respectively.

And this is not the end yet, the powerpack dance number ‘Naatu-Naatu’ will also be performed live at the ceremony.
