The Night Manager is the engaging crime thriller which put you on the cliff-hanger at the end of the Part-I that might disappoint you but Aditya Roy Kapur & Anil Kapoor won’t.

Star studded, Disney+Hotstar Specials The Night Manager is coming this Friday with it’s unique plot & stylish outskirts of India & Sri Lanka. Based on the book ‘The Night Manager’ by John le Carré, Disney+Hotstar will be making its Indian adaptation with Aditya Roy Kapur as the Night Manager, Shaan Sengupta, while Anil Kapoor as Shailendra Rungta aka Shelly.

The series will be divided into two parts, first part coming on 17 Feb consisting 4 episodes while viewers will have to wait for part two till June this year. The Night Manager is the story of a Indian hotel manager who works in night shifts and thus called as The Night Manager, Shaan Sengupta, before discovering his hospitality skills he used to serve the nation into Navy & therefore Shaan has many soldier like shades in his personality, one of them is spying.

The story starts where Shaan Sengupta is managing all his guests who are stuck amidst the traction happening between Myanmar & Bangladesh borders. He meets a 14-year-old girl & wife of one of the partners of the same five star hotel & internal arms dealer in Bangladesh. His wife turns out to be an Indian and tries to seek help to Shaan to get away from her husband, Shaan after denying few times agreed to help her when she records video of her husband’s private meeting with arm dealers.

Shaan sends the video to his friends in Indian ambassy and the footage gets delivered to RAW & further to ministers. Somehow the video gets leaked and the little girl gets in trouble, Shaan while saving her life get involved in an operation. And then there’s a whole mission of how Shaan Sengupta sets his trap against Shelly, one of the renowned businessmen in the world with a scandalous background of his own.

Talking about the plot, it keeps you engage with all the stylist and unique characters. The storyline goes very fast in the first episodes with all the happenings around while it gets very slow in the second episode with the first interaction between leads, Shaan Sengupta & Shelly. The two Aditya Roy Kapur & Anil Kapoor holds different level screen space as even if they aren’t in the scene it feels like they are somewhere behind it.

Apart from the leads, Tillotama Shome who’s playing Lipika who operates the whole mission impress a lot. The desi sense in her character brings a lot to all the fancy & flashy surroundings. She relates with the audience and the way her character is designed, the makers have added a different look at RAW operators & agents which is seems like a reality check.

Sobhita Dhulipala playing wife & lover of Shelly catches eyes of viewers with her flashy scenes. Her character doesn’t grow in the first two episodes even the third one but suddenly takes a strike in the last episode. Her character will have a lot to see in the part two though.

Overall makers have managed to impress in the first part of the series but the decision of making in it two parts and putting audiences on cliff hanger will have its own pros and cons. But surely it will be delight to watch Aditya Roy Kapur & Anil Kapoor sharing screen together.
