For a fan of korean dramas and kpop one of the worst things that can happen to you is seeing your favorite actors or artists enlist in the army. And one of the best things that can happen is if an actor or an artist they love has already completed their mandatory service. Unfortunately, for these celebs, they are set to enlist in the military by the end of this year. We will have to say goodbye, spend nights crying over their previous dramas and missing them. Or listen to their songs and singing along just hoping they come back soon! And they will be! Back Soon!
Song Kang
Song Kang was born April 23, 1994, and after having debuted in 2017 in the series “The Liar and His Lover,” he has notably become one of the most popular actors in the industry. After rising to fame through several series including “Love Alarm” and “Sweet Home,” Song is ready to serve his time in the military. Many will obviously miss seeing him on the small screen!
Nam Joo Hyuk
It feels like Nam Joo Hyuk has been around for a while, and it’s probably because he has been in so many notable projects. Having been born on February 22, 1994, Nam Joo Hyuk’s time has come to enlist in the military. Many fans are very sad, especially with his last project “Twenty Five, Twenty One,” which many are still reeling from!
Kang Tae Oh
Just as Kang Tae Oh has gotten his big break through his role as Lee Jun Ho in “Extraordinary Attorney Woo,” it is sadly time for him to go to the military. The good news for his fans is that there are discussions of a second season in which he could possibly reprise his role as the charming love interest of Woo Young Woo (Park Eun Bin). Fingers crossed!
Jinyoung
GOT7’s Jinyoung has been able to make a name for himself as both an idol and an actor. He is truly skilled in both and has proven it through several roles including “The Devil Judge,” and more recently, “Yumi’s Cells 2.” The fans are definitely not prepared to say goodbye to the idol actor for the next year and a half. We hope to see him strong and healthy when he returns!
Sehun
Born on April 12, 1994, EXO’s Sehun has done it all. With music, fashion, TV, and movies, Sehun has been keeping very busy. With his upcoming series “Love, Hara High School” and playing the lead role, Sehun is also preparing to enlist in the military. His fans from all over the world will miss his presence, but he will surely be back and will come back better than ever!
Kai
Another EXO member and a ’94 liner, Kai is one of the last members of EXO to enlist in the military (along with Sehun). Having been busy the past couple years being a fashion icon and releasing his second EP titled “Peaches,” Kai has been making the best of his time. Fans will be saying goodbye to the idol, but there is no doubt he will return with a lot planned for his fans!
Kim Min Kyu
Having gained mega success this past year through his role as Cha Sung Hoon in “A Business Proposal,” Kim Min Kyu will sadly have to enlist in the military. Kim Min Kyu debuted almost 10 years ago in the series “Monstar,” so it is a monumental year for him as he has gained international stardom. The fans will have to say goodbye to him for now, but just think about all the roles he will be taking on when he returns!
Na In Woo
Despite Na In Woo having been in the industry for quite some time, his rise to success was very quick. After landing the lead role in the series “River Where the Moon Rises” after it had already begun airing, Na In Woo was able to gain a fanbase that was very supportive of the attention he was suddenly gaining. With his recent role in “Jinxed at First” and having a position in the variety show “2 Days & 1 Night 4,” it is sad that fans must say goodbye as he is set to enlist in the army very soon.
Kang Seung Yoon
Kang Seung Yoon is a singer-songwriter who first appeared in the singing contest “Superstar K2” in 2010. He signed to YG Entertainment shortly after and became the leader of WINNER. Since then, Seung Yoon has shown the world that he’s a multi-talented artist, as he has not only been nominated for music awards, but also acting awards. Once Kang Seung Yoon enlists, the industry will surely be missing a gem!
Kim Woo Seok
Kim Woo Seok was born on March 3, 1994, and he debuted in 2017 in the webdrama “Love Playlist: Season 2.” Since then, he has been in several hit K-dramas including “Rookie Cops,” “Military Prosecutor Doberman,” and he will also soon be starring in a webtoon adaptation of “The Forbidden Marriage.” The looming military enlistment is a given for Kim Woo Seok, but hopefully the time will go by quickly so he can greet his fans once again!
