Foxtel CEO Patrick Delany made disparaging remarks at the premiere screening of HBO's spinoff series 'House of Dragons" in Sydney, Australia on Tuesday.
During his speech, Delany recalled he was late at watching the Hit Series, in which Emilia Clarke Played Daenerys Targaryen and while sharing his reaction to a pivotal scene in 'Game of Thrones' he said, "I was like, 'What's this show with the short, dumpy girl walking into the fire?'"
Expecting people to laugh, Delany's comment raised a rage among the fans and people were shocked. Film critic Travis Johnson shared his views via twitter.
These are some of the reactions of the people.
Later the company issued an apology, defending the CEO and trying to clarify.
Meanwhile 'House Of Dragons' will release on August 21 on HBO. Emilia Clarke is not the part as the show is set 300 years before the events of 'Game of Thrones'.
