It's Confirmed! Lady Gaga Featured Opposite Joaquin Phoenix For “Joker: Folie à Deux”

Recently, pop singer Lady Gaga revealed that she is roped in for Joker 2 starring Joaquin Phoenix by sharing a musical teaser on her social media account. Joker released in 2019 was a super successful film that grabbed Oscar for actor Joaquin Phoenix for his stellar performance. The film in itself had an out-of-the-box concept that lured the audience and now its sequel is announced going it has already taken fans' excitement on the edge.

Earlier, on the 7th of June, the director of the film Todd Phillips shared the screenplay's cover on his Instagram account. There were also rumors that Gaga will be roped in for the role of Harley Quinn in the film's sequel, but from the teaser shared by Gaga, the role still remains ambiguous. Harley Quinn is considered to be one of the most trusted characters for Warner Bros.

The slated date of release for “Joker: Folie à Deux” is October 4, 2024, by Warner Bros. For the unknown, the first part of the “Joker” was a box office spectacular film in 2019, which earned approximately $1 billion across the globe becoming the highest-earning R-rated film in history (unadjusted for inflation). The movie was able to win the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival and earned 11 Academy Award nominations, including best picture and director.
