The last few years saw a bevy of female actors turning their passions into professions by donning the hat of an entrepreneur. While some branched into fitness, others unveiled their own production houses and tied up with fashion studios. Seems like multitasking has become the order of the day! We take a look at some of the most successful actor-cum-entrepreneurs, who have reinforced the adage ‘a jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one’ and has set a precedent for the women of today.

Anushka Sharma
After delivering a slew of hit films like Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008), Band Baaja Baaraat (2010) and PK (2014) as an actor, the former model launched her own production house called Clean Slate Films in 2013 with her brother, Karnesh Sharma. After her maiden production NH10 (2015) became a critical success, she went on to produce genre-defining films like Pari (2018), Bulbbul (2020) and the acclaimed web series like Paatal Lok (2020), thus making Clean Slate Films one of the most credible banners. In 2017, she also unveiled Nush, a clothing line, on e-commerce site Myntra, in partnership with Suditi Industries Ltd, to make fashion accessible in terms of price and style.

Malaika Arora
The actor, dancer, model and VJ is best known for making heads turn with her impeccable moves in chartbusters like Chaiyya Chaiyya (Dil Se; 1998), Maahi Ve (Kaante; 2002), Kaal Dhamaal (Kaal; 2005), Hoth Rasiley (Welcome; 2007) and Munni Badnaam Hui (Dabangg; 2010). In 2016, the yoga enthusiast created Diva Yoga in partnership with Exceed Entertainment and Sarva Yoga, a yoga studio to make fitness accessible to modern women. And since then there hasn’t been any looking back. She partnered with Kapiva and soon will launch new products under the collaborative partnership. She also created Nude Bowls with Exceed Entertainment and Rebel Foods in 2021, Arora is now working on several other partnerships with her team.

Dia Mirza
The actor and former Miss Asia Pacific International rose to fame with her debut film Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein in 2000, which won her instant recognition. Mirza started her first production company Born Free Entertainment and produced films such as Love Breakups Zindagi (2011) and Bobby Jasoos (2014) and the web series Mind The Malhotras (2019). In 2019, she announced her second content production venture called One India Stories. An environmentally conscious citizen and the goodwill ambassador of UNEP in India, she has also funded start-ups like Shumee and Beco to give a push to eco-friendly and organic products. Apart from these, Mirza is all set to announce her association with three other brands that stand for environmental sustainability.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas
It seems like this global superstar is soon going to run out of feathers to add to her glorious cap of success. Other than being a global superstar and also a singer, she has recently launched her hair care line called – Anomaly. Making it affordable for everyone, her haircare brand took off to a colourful start. She has had her production house – Purple Pebble Pictures for a long time now and has been a part of some beautiful stories. Other than having multiple successful businesses, she has also just launched her autobiography – Unfinished and it is already ranking on number 1.

Katrina Kaif
Katrina launched her own beauty brand called "Kay Beauty" in 2019, in association with beauty giant Nykaa. The brand boasts of many products, starting from makeup essentials to a complete skin care range, suited primarily for Asian skin. Katrina calls it, " a bridge between high glamour and care. " It is the first beauty line that has emerged out of Bollywood. Recently, "Kay with Katrina" completed two years of its launch. Her net worth is Rs 224 crores at present.
