Athiya Shetty

Actor and entrepreneur Athiya Shetty may have grabbed the limelight for her image as a girl-next-door, but she has often been seen breaking out of the mould and donning the hat of a true blue fashionista. Apart from illuminating runways and fashion shows, her social media bears testament to her impeccable and versatile sartorial sensibilities, which has struck a chord with fashion lovers and connoisseurs.

In the latest issue of Bridal Asia, the diva takes her style game up a notch as she looks regal in a frilled dress with intricate sequin work. The elaborate outfit put together by ace fashion designer Rahul Mishra spells melodrama. Needless to say, it is yet another eye-grabbing addition to the array of creations curated by the couturier, who was the first Indian designer to showcase at the Paris Haute Couture Week and is a champion of slow fashion. The ensemble is a true essence of his design etiquette and style that makes for a seamless blend of slow fashion with traditional Indian crafts.

On the cover, Shetty opts for a nude make-up with pink lips, which perfectly complements the mellow-hued and chic dress with frills and ruffles. She rounds off the look with a pair of floral earrings and a matching chunky ring.

On a related note, Shetty marked her acting debut with the 2015 romantic thriller Hero. She followed it up with the comic caper Mubarakan in 2017 and a slice-of-life film titled Motichoor Chaknachoor opposite cator Nawazuddin Siddiqui in 2019, which won her wide critical acclaim. Early this year, she turned entrepreneur with Stage3, a social commerce platform for fashion and lifestyle, targeted at India’s Gen-Z and millennial crowd. Putting her fashion acumen to use, she took on the role of a creative director and has been working towards empowering the next generation of fashion creators.
